Guardian Angel Magnet or Pin

I am not a collector of fridge magnets nor do I like them pasted all over my fridge, but while sorting out my craft stuff, I came up with this pretty little magnet. I purchased this button at Michaels Arts and Crafts. They have a great selection of very pretty buttons and very inexpensive too.

Craft Supplies:

  • Brass Plate (available in jewelry section of craft shops)

  • Plastic Angel Button

  • Household or Crafters Goop (hot glue won't work for this project)

  • Magnet strip

  • Ribbon scrap

  • Wire Cutters

Craft Project Instructions:

This is an easy craft which takes only minutes to make and looks fabulous holding notes on your fridge.

Simply cut the button loop off the back of the button and glue the angel button (to the centre of the plate, and before the glue dries, glue a small magnet strip to the back of the plate. To use as a bulletin board pin, simply glue a thumb tack in place of the magnet strip or you can add a broach pin to the back and wear the little beauty. Glue a small ribbon bow to front. Allow your glue to dry at least 72 hours before using your magnet.

Hot glue will not work for this project, it will let go of the metal and plastic pieces and will sometimes causes problems with the magnets. Use a glue that is suitable for plastics and metals. Goop carries a full line of glues for almost everything and is available at most craft shops and home improvement shops.

This project is very basic and I hope it inspires you create other very pretty magnets or pins.
