Cheerful light bulb duck would make a great Easter decoration or whimsical homemade gift.
Consider dressing him up for Christmas with a plaid scarf instead of ribbon, a red hat, and a light dusting of fake snow.
Lightbulb Duck
Supplies:
old lightbulb
thin ribbon
tiny straw hat
yellow feathers
half black bead, or plastic eyes
three small white buttons
scrap of orange craft foam
rubbing alcoholsmall piece of orange sculpey clay
yellow model car paint or perm enamel paint
Lightbulb Duck
Instructions:
1. Wipe the bulb with rubbing alcohol. Paint your light bulb with either yellow perm enamel by Delta or yellow car paint. Let dry.
2. Take a small piece of Sculpey clay and form the beak with a turned up point. Bake at 275° for 20 minutes and set aside. Editor's note: an alternative to clay would cut a small piece of orange fun foam as the beak.
3. Glue the hat to the top of the bulb, over the metal threads. Trim the hat with ribbon and a small bow. Glue on the eyes and beak.
4. Glue a long yellow feather to each side of the duck as wings. Glue a small piece of ribbon around the neck and three buttons down the front.
5. Finally, for the duck's feet, cut a heart shape out of orange craft foam. Glue the bottom of the lightbulb to the center of the heart. Enjoy!
