Construction Paper Halloween Invitations
Here’s how to make three different designs of Halloween party invitations from construction paper, black marker and gel pens. Kids will be able to make a number of these fairly quickly to hand out to their friends prior to a Halloween get-together.
We’ve shown how to make a spider, moon or spooky tree invitation, but you can also use the general directions to make your own designs. Try a witch silhouette, a black cat, or jack o’lanterns, then outline them in your choice of metallic gel pen.
.
Material:
- 9 inches by 6 inches sheet of construction paper
- Black Marker
- Metallic Gel Pen (any colour)
- Ruler
General Directions:
Construction paper can be purchased in pads that measure 6 inches by 9 inches, there by eliminating the need to cut the paper to size. However, if you are using full sheets of construction paper (standard size is 9 x 12), simply cut your sheet in half and you will have the required size for this invitation.
Fold your sheet in half so that the folded card measures 4 1/2 x 6 inches.
On the inside of your cards you can write:
» Date:
» Time:
» Place:
» For:
» R.S.V.P.
For the Spider Card:
Draw a web of dots and a spider, centered on the card front, using your black marker.
Allow the marker ink to dry and use a metallic gel pen to draw two teeny dots for eyes on the spider.
For the Moon Card:
Use the photo as a guide then draw a black square outline, allowing the centre of the outline to be a little ragged along the edge and draw a moon as shown in photo (centre on card front), using your black marker.
Allow the marker ink to dry and using a metallic gel pen, draw around the outline of your moon, the outside and inside of square and around the outer edge of the card front.
For the Spooky Tree:
Use the pattern shown as a guide to draw a tree using black marker. Alternatively, enlarge the tree pattern slightly then trace it onto your card.
Allow the marker ink to dry then use a metallic gel pen to draw fine lines throughout the tree.
These cards are very easy to make and you can make several in a very short time.
