Pretty In Lace Candle Holders
For this craft, I used inexpensive candles that were not very pretty on their own, which is exactly what inspired this project.
You can use the same easy technique to dress up boring candles with scraps of pretty lace. Use lace in seasonal colors to make candle holders for special occasions, such as sparkling lace with green and red accents for Christmas, or white and red lace for Valentine’s Day.
Supplies
- Glass candle holders
- Lace or Ribbon scraps
- Hot glue gun and glue
How to:
First, remove any labels from your glass holders. For the candles shown here, I applied two separate sections of lace. The wider piece of lace was applied first, to cover the top area of the candle, then the smaller band around the bottom of the holder was glued in place.
You will need to measure around your holder, add a half inch to the measurement, then cut a piece of lace to this size. Wrap the lace around the glass and secure it with a little dot of hot glue, overlapping the lace slightly. That’s all there is to it.
Be sure that your lace doesn’t extend up to, or over the top of your holder. This could cause a terrible fire hazard, so be sure that the lace won’t ever come in contact with the flame of your candle – and always remember: never leave a candle burning unattended.
