Beaded Christmas Tree Pattern
Use this free beading tutorial to make a beaded Christmas tree pendant, or Christmas tree earrings, for yourself - or to give as a homemade gift to someone you love.
What you need:
- 29 pieces of 4mm Crystal, Pearl or Beads
- 25 gauge wire (0.25mm)
Please note that the step-by-step graphics are illustrated with spaces between beads for a clearer direction; in the actual beading, there should be no spaces.
Step 1: Cut a piece of wire around 1 meter long. Add 4 crystals to the wire and cross both ends of the wire through the last added crystal, make sure you move the 4 crystals to the middle of the wire so that both ends of the wire are of the same length.

Step 2: Now add 1 crystal to each side of the wire, follow by adding a last crystal and cross both ends of the wire through this last added crystal. Remember to pull tight.
Step 3: Get the idea! now add 2 crystals on each end of the wires and loop back each end through the crystals from step 2 as shown. Remember to pull tight.
Step 4: This step is a bit trickier: add one crystal and cross both wires through this crystal, add one crystal on each side of the wire, then add one more to cross the wires through (like step 2).
Now you have to work on one side at a time and not on both wire: Let's work on the right side first - loop the wire back one more crystal and add 5 crystals and loop the wire back through the second added crystal, then add one more and loop the wire back through the crystals from the first part of this step. Repeat this same procedure on the left wire and both wires should come out at the bottom as shown. (remember to pull tight)

Step 5: Now add one crystal and cross both wires through the crystals and repeat this again.
You can end off by adding stop bead on each wire then cut off the excess or simply just loop the wires back through the piece as far up as you can go and cut away the excess.
Attach hooks for pendants or make two and attach earring hooks for earring. (just tie it on with wire or nylon string)

Instead of using any thread or wire at all, I had the kids create designs they liked using beads. Then when they were happy with their designs I used hot glue to glue them together. Now there is no chance for the beads to fall off the string or wire while they are making them. Also tracing certain cookie cutters to use as a template for stars and some others is very helpful.
This is a great Idea but can you make them without wire because I can only afford to use what I have inside my house so whoever has the anwser please reply because I really need the information and I have to get it soon so I have time to do other crafts to decorate my house with I will be checking back about every time I get the chance so any time is good for me I also like all the other stuff on this website you should check out the salt dough recipe it works really well but you really have to make sure that hole for the string is big beacuse half of the ones that I put in there closed up ok well I have to go I will check back soon when I am done with my next project
It seems like you could make them with regular thread. When I have done similar patterns I have used thread and then dipped it in polyurethane or liquid floor wax to set them. I found out the hard way that the liquid floor wax doesn't stay stiff (even if wax allowed to harden first) if the object is left in a car here in the desert. The wax melts and the ornament sags. Good Luck!
great idea
