Curried Rice Gift in a Jar with Printable Labels

This layered curried rice and raisins recipe serves six and is a perfect accompaniment to pork or chicken. Add it to your repertoire of Gift-in-a-Jar recipes for great homemade gift giving.

This particular recipe has a mild curry flavor. It is inexpensive, easy to assemble, and makes a neat gift-in-a-jar for anyone. The printable label shown below provides directions on how to use this recipe and it can either be glued to your jar or attached with ribbon to enhance your gift.



Curried Rice and Raisins


Ingredients:

1½ cups long-grain white rice

2 heaped tsps. of chicken bouillon powder

3 tbsp. dried minced or flaked onion

1/3 cup raisins

¾ tsp. curry powder

Layered Gift in a Jar Instructions:


Easy to assemble and very effective!

Place 3/4 cup of rice in the jar, and then add separate layers of chicken bouillon powder, dried onion, curry powder and raisins. Pack the raisins down with a spoon and top with the remaining rice.

Attach a gift tag, with instructions, to the jar.

How to Use the Gift Tag:

Print the gift tag, and cut it out. Fold front page to the back, along the horizontal center line. Next, fold again, along the vertical line, to place the illustration on the front and the instructions on the inside of your gift tag. Punch a hole in the top left corner and attach to the jar with a piece of yarn or ribbon.
