Help!!
i am making a huge granny square blanket. My problem is I dont know how to connect them and I dont know how to read patterns. can someone tell me in simple english or explain what all the abbreviations are?? Please help. thanks.
i have been doing this pff and on for about 27 years now. i love to do it just not enough time in the day for the most part...lol. but any way the answer to your questions is look for crochet for beginners and it will give you a list of all the abbreviations and how to do them and how to read patterns. if you need any more help your have my email. good luck and enjoy.
I hope this helps you. Abbrev. are usually the first letter or 2 of the stitch to be used . such as:ch = chain, sc= single crochet, hdc= half double crochet, bpdc= backpost double crochet, fpsc= front post single crochet, ect.
joining your granny squares can be as simple as using a sewing needle and a whipstitch, or, you can join them with a slip stitch or a single crochet depending on the look you want.
Would like to find patterns crocheted. Mile a Minute shell pattern done in strips. Afghans cone in strips. Crocheted and knitted. Thanks
The petal flower and the popcorn say to turn the work and work stiches. What does that mean. I've been doing crocheting for more than 30 years and both of those patterns just don't seem clear to me. I have been able to figure out the other three, but am at a loss with the popcorn and petal. HELP
I have been crocheting since I was 10--and never did learn how to read a pattern--I just look at the square and do it--I havent had any problems with any of my squares--so thanks for showing the pattern-- I have made blankets with granny squares and they are pretty..which I could email you some pictures of them--thanks again
im going to try to do this granny square afghan i im laid up for about 12 weeks so i need something to do i hope this will work out.
HI, I'm a bit confused about the patterns for the puff and the popcorn flower afghans. The first instruction for the Popcorn Flower Afghan Square, says to ch. 4, join with sl st. Rnd 1 says to work 15 dc in ring, join and break off. Rnd 2 says to join yarn between any 2 dc's ch. 3, * ch. 1, dc in next sp between dc's. Rep from * around, end ch. 1 This makes no sense to me as the instructions mention nothing about working a ch. 3 between dc's in the previous rnds. Please explain this to me. When and where do the "ch. 3" come in at? Thanks in advance for your help, Debrah Eggleston
There is a punctuation problem. Join yarn in between any 2 dc, chain 3. In most cases, the chain three is equal to your first dc. *ch 1, dc, ch 1* around. End with ch 1, sl st into top of ch 3. Fasten off. ( A star * at the beginning and end of a sequence means: Repeat.)
Hope this helps.
