Assembly
all the assembly was done using Slip Stitch in back loops only
you may use whip stitch if you so prefer.
I assembled the squares in panels of six in this order
top row: Variations 6, 4, 1
bottom row: Variations 3, 2, 5

Then I put four 6 square panels together to make a 24 square panel 8 squares wide and 3 squares high.

Then I put the three 24 square panels together to form a blanket that was 9 squares high and 8 squares wide.
72 total squares.
Picot Border
Using Color B
Join with SC at any corner.
SC around until you come to the join of two squares.
Make picot
continue around
To Make Picot
At the join of two squares ch 7, slip stitch in same space
Weave in all ends

Megan, I've made granny square blankets before with the raised ridge between squares. What you do is, single crochet through both loops on the right side of the pieces (wrong sides held together). That will give you that nice raised ridge. Good luck.
your kneedle is bigger than the original
hey, uh I made a blanket or am at the end process of it. and it is exactly like the small little squares of yours but the whole thing is just one big square like one of the small ones, if that makes sense. I was wondering if you could give me an idea of how to end it.
Hey I think I know what you are talking about. Your blanket is just flat right? Not raised in between the squares? I haven't made this blanket yet but looking at the pattern I couldn't figure that out either. If you have figured this out yet please let me know. Thanks!
