Supplies:

1 – 50g ball of 4 ply knitting worsted yarn in the color you choose for the slippers.
1 – 50g ball of 4 ply knitting worsted yarn for the color you choose to make the cuff.
Crochet Hook – 4.50 mm or H hook.
Knitting needles for the cuff – 3 mm – Equivalent English size 11.

Abbreviations used:

ch – chain
bslip (8K)ss – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet

How to crochet 2 sc tog. – insert hook, pull up a loop, insert in second sc pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through all loops on hook.

Notes are shown in italics.

BOTTOM (SOLE)

Chain 16 to begin

RND 1 – 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in next 10 chs, 6 dc in next ch, (this is the 2nd ch from last, crochet 3 dc on one side of the tail end of the yarn, then pull it up towards you and crochet the other 3 dc on the other side) (Note: I don’t use the last ch as it is too loose and will pull through.) Working on the back side of the chains, crochet one dc in next 10 loops 3 dc in next back loop of ch, ss to join. (32 sts)

RND 2 – Ch 1, 1 sc at the base of ch 1, 2 sc in next 2 sts, 1 sc in next 5 sts, 1 hdc in next st, 1 dc in next 5 sts, 2 dc in next 4 sts, 1 dc in next 5 sts, 1 hdc in next st, 1 sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next 2 sts, 1 sc in next st, ss to join to first sc, do not turn. (40 sts)

RND 3 – Ch 1, 1 sc at base of ch 1, 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 14 sts, 2 sc in next 6 sts, 1 sc in next 14 sts, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 2 sts, ss to join to first sc, do not turn. (48 sts)

RND 4 – Ch 1, 1 ss in each stitch all around through front loops only, ss to join, Ch 1 and Turn. This makes a ridge. (48 sts)

SIDES AND TOP

All stitches are through back loops only unless otherwise stated.

RND 1 – NOTE: Start your first sc in back loop of the next sc and not in the ss where you joined on the previous Rnd. 1 sc in each st all around to beg, ss to join to first sc., ch 1 and turn. (48 sc)

RNDS 2 – Same as RND 1.

RND 3 – 1 sc in next 19 sts, 2 sc tog, skip next st. Through both loops 1 hdc in next 4 sts. Through back loops only again skip next st, 2 sc tog, 1 sc in next 19 sts, ss to join, ch 1 and turn.

RND 4 – 1 sc in next 17 sts, 2 sc tog, skip next st. Through both loops 1 dc in next 4 hdc. Skip next st, through back loops only 2 sc tog, 1 sc in next 17 sts, ss to join, ch 1 and turn.

RND 5 – 1 sc in next 15 sts, 2 sc tog, skip next st. Through both loops 1 dc in next 4 dc, skip next st. Through back loops only 2 sc tog, 1 sc in each st to beg, ss to join, ch 1 and turn.

RND 6 – 1 sc in next 13 sts, 2 sc tog, skip next st. Through both loops 1 dc in next 4 dc, skip next st. Through back loops only 2 sc tog, 1 sc in next 13 sts, ss to join, ch 1 and do NOT turn.

RND 7 – Beginning at base of ch 1, through the front loops only 1 ss in next 13 sts, skip next st. Through both loops 1 sc in next 4 dc, skip next st. Through the bottom loops only 1 ss in next 13 sts, ss to join, fasten off.

KNITTED CUFFS

Starting at where you ended crocheting, pick up (on the bottom loops of the slip stitches and 4 scs) 8 stitches on each knitting needle. Join yarn and work cuff:

RND 1 – K1, P1, repeat to end of Round.

RNDS 2 – 20 – Same as Round 1.

Knit off (be sure not to make these sts too tight). Fold down cuff.
