All Free Crafts: Frequently Asked Questions Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions received by the Editor of AllFreeCrafts.com. We welcome your feedback, testimonials, submissions...and yes, your questions - but please make sure the question isn't already answered here before you email us. If you'd like to know when we add new free crafts, please subscribe to our free newsletter.1. Can you help me find a pattern or craft directions for...(fill in the blank)?
Unfortunately, no, not any more. When the site was smaller, I spent hours searching the net to help people find crafts they were looking for - but with thousands of visitors to the site every day, and dozens of daily pattern requests, I'm sorry to say that I can no longer help you out in this way.
I do suggest posting your pattern request on the AllFreeCrafts Yahoo Group. Maybe one of the hundreds of members, including myself, can help you out. If not, you'll still get lots of information and companionship with crafters from all over the world who share your interests. On the signup page, I advise opting for "Daily Digest." That way, you will receive the group emails batched together, in digest form, sent maybe once or twice daily to your signup email address, depending on the posting volume.
I'd also suggest searching Google or Yahoo, two of the biggest and best search engines on the net. Don't be afraid to get specific in your searches - use two or three words to describe what you want, rather than just one, and if that doesn't work, try another variation on the same theme.

2. Your crafts are "free for personal use only" - what does that mean?
Access to hundreds of craft projects is completely free to anyone who visits this site - which is where AllFreeCrafts.com gets its name. However, everything on the site remains fully protected by copyright and is made freely available for personal use only - this means there ARE restrictions on other uses.
Here's what you CAN and CANNOT do with the crafts and images on this site: |
You CAN:
You CAN print a copy of any of the craft projects, or save them to your computer, for your personal use only.
You CAN use any craft project on this site to make a finished craft project for yourself or to give as a homemade gift to someone else. This is considered "personal use."
You can save the images that accompany a craft project to your computer, for the purpose of viewing or printing the image to help you complete that project.
If you are the leader of a non-profit group, such as a teacher or scout leader, you CAN make multiple copies of a craft project for the educational use or entertainment of your group, up to a maximum of 100.
You CAN recommend our craft projects to other people by sharing links to our home page, or to individual project pages on the site, but absolutely DO NOT LINK TO INDIVIDUAL IMAGE URLS - see information about image use in the right column.
You CAN reprint and republish articles specifically identified as "free content" articles, providing you follow the terms of use and include the copyright information found on the page. You must also make links within the article into "clickable" links.
| You CANNOT:
You CANNOT reprint any material found on this site in newspapers, magazines, or any other print medium.
You CANNOT re-publish or redistribute any image or craft on your own web site, web-based newsletter, or internet craft group.
You CANNOT use any of our craft projects, including images, designs, text, descriptions, instructions and finished product, for commercial use or profit making purposes of any kind. For instance, this means that you CANNOT sell finished crafts made from our designs.
You CANNOT link to images - so please do NOT publish the url to specific images in emails, newsletters, on a web site, or in print. Image urls usually end in .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, or .bmp extensions. To share an image, please send visitors to the specific page that displays that image, or to the specific page on my site that contains a link to the image - NOT to the image itself.
Hotlinking to images, in order to display them on your own web site or craft group, is bandwidth theft. Such stealing of my internet resources will NOT be tolerated, so please don't try it.
You cannot alter, re-work, re-write or re-design our images or craft projects and then publish them as your own.
You cannot remove our copyright notices on images or craft projects. |
Please Email me for permission to use my craft designs for charitable fund raising, or to inquire about reprint or re-publication terms. I am approachable and will often say "yes" to reasonable requests. |
3. Your "Printer Friendly" link does not work for me. Why?
If you have Norton Firewall installed on your computer, the Printer Friendly link returns an error. Temporarily disable the firewall (this should be simple - just click the Norton Firewall icon on your taskbar, click disable, then confirm that you wish to turn off Norton Firewall). Once the firewall is disabled, return to the page that you want to print, click the link to the printer friendly version, and it should quickly appear. Print the page, and then re-enable Norton Firewall.
| 4. Do you have a product catalog, or do you sell kits of your craft projects?
No. Most of the craft projects on this site are made from readily available supplies; there are no plans to package craft kits for sale.
| 5. Can I Submit My Craft Project for Publication on AllFreeCrafts?
Original reader submissions are most welcome - particularly those that also include a photo or good illustration of the finished project. Don't worry about writing like a professional - just describe how to make the project in a way that most people can understand.
Craft projects from other craft web sites are welcome too.
| 6. Why is there so much advertising on your site?
Advertising sponsors allow me to give you free access to hundreds of craft projects. Advertising pays for hosting and bandwidth fees, and enables me to take my husband out to dinner occasionally (to compensate for all the time that I spend on the computer).
I work mostly with major ad networks that continually rotate the ads that appear on the site. I try to feature advertising that is relevant to the site, and avoid more objectionable forms of advertising, like ads for adult or gambling sites.
If you are interested advertising on the site, please email me for a quote.
| 7. Will You Link to My Site?
Maybe. If you send me an automated link request, the answer is no. I delete these without reading them. If you have a craft related site that provides free access to craft projects, I may recommend or link to your home page if I find it relevant or useful for my readers.
| 8. Is there anything else I need to know?
You can read our Terms of Service page for more information on copyright issues, our Privacy Policy, and Submissions.
You can also email me with feedback, questions, submissions, or testimonials. I welcome your suggestions and love to hear from readers!
