 I've had a fishy week, all things considered. I made a fish mobile from plastic bottles, and a smelly jelly fish bowl that turned out so well, it looks real. And, yesterday, I liberated my seven goldfish from their basement wintering hole, returning them to the garden pond. They sunbathed all afternoon today, watching me work in the yard.
 So why does this belong in the newsletter? Because, of course, the fish mobile and fish bowl are now featured on our site - along with some timely gardening projects and gardening tips.
We also have a charming idea for melt-and-pour baby shower soaps, and three brand new crafts for children.
Gardening
Spring gardening tips and gardening chores to do in April.
 Petunias
Identify the four main varieties of petunias and learn how to care for them in flowerbeds or containers.
|  Nasturtiums
Colorful nasturtiums are easy to grow from seed - and you can add the leaves to summer salads! | Weed the flower beds now, while weeds are small, to save time later on.
Apply fertilizer to spring-flowering bulbs and spring-blooming shrubs, after flowering is complete. |  Hummingbird Food
It's time to set out your hummingbird feeders; use this easy nectar recipe to fill them up. Don't forget to make some nectar to Feed the Orioles too. |  Bottle Greenhouse
Make mini greenhouses from plastic bottles; fill with seeds or seedlings in easy-to-make starter pots made from toilet paper tubes. | April is a good month to plant or transplant trees and shrubs.
 Apply compost, or well decomposed manure, to cane, bush (gooseberries, currants, and blueberries), and trailing berries.
Set out bird boxes and bird baths.
