Check out the instant coffee section of the local grocery store, and you’ll find many different flavors to choose from these days. Problem is, the premixed instant coffees in the fancy tins are quite expensive. However, you can save quite a lot by making your own Instant Flavoured Coffee Mixes.
You’ll find nine different recipes assembled here, and I may add more in the near future. So far, you can choose from Fireside Coffee, French Vanilla, Amaretto Mocha, Cappuccino Mocha, Instant Cappuccino, Cinnamon ‘n’ Spice, Bavarian Mint, Peppermint Coffee Cocoa and Toffee Coffee.
All the ingredients are easy to find, and you can recycle most clear glass jars (if they have a tightly fitting lid) to store the finished coffee recipes. Gift jars look terrific wrapped in colored cellophane, with a twist of curling ribbon around the neck and a little handwritten tag of instructions.
I find that many people appreciate simple, homemade gifts like this. Flavored coffee is a little luxury to indulge in at the end of the day, or a welcome pick-me-up in the morning, so it’s sure to be enjoyed. Best of all, none of these coffee recipes take long to assemble, so the finished jars are an economical, practical gift choice for students living away from home, colleagues, teachers, or the paper delivery person.
Don’t forget to make a little extra for yourself while you’re at it. Enjoy!
