Kid’s Diary

craft foam diary coverHere’s a fun project for summer - a Craft Foam Diary that you can decorate in many different ways, plus printable diary pages to fit inside it. Of course, if you prefer a lined or blank notebook, you can cut down paper to suit.

I think this craft might be a nice one to try with a group of friends, so if you’re having kids over for a pajama party, or are just hanging out and feeling bored, buy a pack of craft foam from the dollar store and have at it! Although I called this a girl’s diary, it seems I was wrong to leave out the guys, because at least one guy liked it enough to try his own version. I don’t see why not. Leave it plain, cover it with stickers, or whatever…just make the diary your own, however you like it!

The Denim Dairy Cover, denim diary cover shown at right, is a little more challenging, but a great way to recycle worn out jeans. It is designed to cover a purchased diary or journal, and features a tab closure made from the waistband of your old jeans, plus a front jeans pocket that is handy for storing small notes or your diary pencil.

  1. Instead of using old jeans you could cover the diary cover with air-dry clay so that way while its still wet you put beads and all kinds of stuff on then when it dries you can use glitter glue to write your name or whatever on it that way you have a personalized diary or journal

  2. I like the idea of the air-dry clay. If it will stay stuck on the cover,it could be decorated in lots of different ways.
