Sunkist® Take a Stand Program

There is an old saying which says if life hands you lemons, make lemonade. Sunkist® is taking that idea to a new level - encouraging kids to raise money for the charity of their choice by selling lemonade this summer. They are giving away 20,000 free lemonade stands to kids aged 7 to 12, throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The first 500 kids to sign up will also receive a Sunkist® Summer Fun Lemonade Kit which includes a hand juicer, peeler, a ‘how to’ brochure and a recipe booklet.

The Sunkist® site also offers safety tips for the young entrepreneur, lemonade recipes, a free printable Lemonade for Sale poster, a stand price sign, stand sales tracker and how to price your product. There is no purchase necessary to participate in this program.

Sunkist® Old Fashioned Lemonade:
6 Sunkist® lemons -juice
1 cup sugar, or to taste
4 cups cold water
1 Sunkist® lemon , cut into cartwheel slices
ice cubes
In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice and sugar; stir to dissolve the sugar. Add the remaining ingredients and blend well.
“Pink Lemonade” Variation: Add a few drops of red food coloring or grenadine syrup.
Honeyed Lemonade Variation: Substitute honey to taste for the sugar
Makes six servings.
