Mini Wind Chimes

Wind chimes have their attraction, but sometimes the sound they make can be just too much noise to be enjoyable. These two miniature wind chime craft projects offer a welcome tinkle of sound, rather than a bellow, in a spring or summer breeze.

Our first project is a Terra Cotta Pot Wind Chime that is made from a tiny terra cotta pot, a wooden bead, thin ribbon, and eight small brass bells, added on staggered lengths of thin ribbon, to provide a subtle chime when the wind blows.

The second free nature project is a Bird House Wind Chime, made from one of the miniature bird houses that you can find quite readily at most dollar stores or craft stores. Our sample is painted in red, white and blue, showing patriotric colors that are perfect for Independence Day in the U.S. Of course, you can paint yours in any desired color scheme, from flag colors to team colors, or simply colors to match your mood or decor.
