These two beginner crochet patterns can each be completed in minutes, providing a quick, easy practice of basic crochet stitches such as chain stitch, slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet and treble crochet. All you need is a crochet hook and a small amount of green yarn for each four leaf clover or shamrock.
Add a safety pin and you can wear the green on your hat or lapel for St. Patrick’s Day, or simply attach your new creation to a zipper pull or key chain. Small as they are (about 1-1/2″ across, using worsted weight yarn), either the clover or the shamrock could easily be used to decorate a St. Patrick’s Day greeting card.
Since these work up so quickly, you might make a few just to hand out to special people on March 17th - passing on the green and a cheerful Top of the Morning to You as you go.
