As a dedicated reader, I tend to hang on to my books. This means there are mountains of paperbacks in various places all over my house - and while there are many that I will never part with, there are others that…well, let’s face it - chances are the poor things will never be read again.
So what to do with those paperbacks that people won’t buy, even at a garage sale on the second day?
Here’s one option - a recycled paperback book Christmas tree!
I would recommend this as an excellent recycling Christmas craft for kids - except for the fact that you need a knife to slice through the spine of the paperback. If an adult can do this part, then unleash the kids and let them have at it; although I used spray paint for convenience, kids can fold the pages, glue together the two parts, then slather on craft paint, glue and glitter to great effect. The results are sure to please both you and them.
Adults can approach this project with more flair and sophistication. Because of the elegant simplicity of this design, it can stand alone, or become the center of a festive Christmas display for a side table or even the centerpiece of your dining table for Christmas dinner.
