Blog Action Day - the Environment

I just learned about Blog Action Day, which was set as October 15, 2007 - so, as of the time on my computer, I’m about five hours late.  But better late than never, as they say…and I truly hope that is also true of the steps that we are taking worldwide to protect our environment.

As a mother, and a concerned member of the human race, I worry constantly that it isn’t enough.  And missing this opportunity to spread the word has upset me a little…but this is, so I understand, the first time that a concerted effort has been made to harness the power of bloggers around the world, working in harmony on a single day, to post about a single issue - the environment.

If you have a blog, and missed this chance also, then perhaps, like me, you will make note, tell others, do a little research and come on board for next year.  Meanwhile, we can all take the occasional opportunity to talk to others about environmental concerns, and ideas to overcome those challenges.

Here’s a post that explains some of what is going on:  Building Momentum:  How Blog Action Got Going.  I’m sure there are others, if you do a Google search for Blog Action Day.

Meanwhile, on AllFreeCrafts, I suggest checking out our Recycling Crafts index for awesome ideas and crafts that use recycled objects as the base material for crafts.  Also check out Recycling on our blog, for ideas on how to reuse all sorts of things, from clear plastic food containers, coffee creamer bottles, shower curtains, denim jeans and dryer lint.  Might not sound like much…but if you, and several hundred other readers, took note and actually used these ideas….well, then we’re talking about recycling with some significant worth.

Please…let’s do it.  We have a world to save for our kids and all humankind.
