Some of the most expensive Christmas cards that you can buy in the stores today are those with three-dimensional elements that set them apart from the same old flat Christmas card boxed sets of yore. I like the creative look of these cards, but not the price, so I set out to make a unique set of high-quality Christmas cards from old ones.
This was a fun craft project and the results were very satisfying. Using the same simple techniques, you can adapt the ideas that I used, build upon them, and create your own set of one-of-a-kind Christmas cards to send to special people on your Christmas card list next year.
You can make three new cards from one sheet of card stock, and we provide a free printable envelope to fit these cards as our contribution to this Christmas card recycling project.
We also have six other pages devoted to recycling Christmas cards. Check out how to make a Christmas Card Basket, Victorian Icing Card Ornaments, Miniature Boxes from Greeting Cards, Spherical Ball Shaped Christmas Card Ornaments, Juice Lid Tree Ornaments and Christmas Card Angels.
Now admit it - aren’t you already seeing some of your old Christmas cards in a completely different light? Christmas cards have multiple crafting uses and, best of all, they cost nothing. That’s my idea of the perfect resource for creative crafters!
