Free Crafts, Craft Projects and Patterns to Make Easy Homemade Gifts

I'm excited to announce that AllFreeCrafts.com is recommended as a "creative website offering ideas for gifts with a homemade touch," by authors Barb Webb and Maureen Heck, in their new book: The Mom's Guide to Earning and Saving Thousands on the Internet.

When author Barb Webb emailed me with the news, she also assured me that "only the highest quality sites" were selected for recommendation.

Having read the book now from cover to cover, I'm thrilled to be associated with this venture. The Mom's Guide to Earning and Saving Thousands on the Internet is an invaluable resource for anyone trying to make or save money on the internet!

Look for it in book stores, or use our link to buy the book online at Amazon. Don't forget to look us up under the section on hobbies for Mom and Dad!

Herbs, plus Natural Beauty and Natural Cleaning Recipes

My daughter, Adrianne, is gradually taking over our companion site at Creative-Home.net -- and she loves all things natural. You'll find her her Natural Beauty Recipes and Natural Homemade Cleaners easy to make, inexpensive, and a lot less toxic than commercial alternatives.

    All About Herbs
Adrianne is also expanding the herb section on Creative-Home. Learn about growing and using sage, rosemary, thyme, basil, ginseng, cilantro, dill and lavender, plus the medicinal and therapeutic qualities of many herbs, including geraniums and garlic. There's also a new article on How to Make Your Own Herbal Tinctures.
    Herbal Sun Tea

If you grow your own herbs, try making herbal sun tea this summer. Simply fill a large jar with water, add a handful of freshly crushed herbs, and set in the sun for a few hours to steep.

Strain the tea, sweeten with honey if desired, and serve over ice. Iced mint tea or lemon balm iced tea are both excellent prepared this way.

    Candle Making and Candle Crafts

Check out the new Candle Making and Candle Crafts section at AllFreeCrafts!

Chunk Candles, at left, are a neat way to recycle chunks of other candles.

Candy Candle Jars, shown at right, make a sweet homemade gift for the teacher, babysitter or Mother's Day.
    How to Make Eggshell Candles

Eggshell Candles use birthday candles as the wick. Simply place the larger portion of a broken eggshell, or a blown eggshell with a large hole at the top, in an egg cup.

Fill the eggshell with colored sand, salt, or candle wax crystals. Insert the birthday candle. You can dye the eggshell if you wish, to make festive Eggshell Candles for Easter.

    seashells (3K)Directions:
The shiny inside "bowl" of a clam shell or large seashell makes a lovely soap dish. Just glue three or four smaller shells on the outside, to act as legs and prevent the dish from overturning. Allow glue to dry completely before using.
